About Jenn-Air appliances
Jenn-Air was founded in Indianapolis by Louis Jenn and became known for pioneering the downdraft range, which pulls cooking smoke down through a vent in the cooktop instead of up into a hood. The brand later became part of Maytag and, since 2006, Whirlpool Corporation, where it is the luxury line, with design collections such as RISE and NOIR. Jenn-Air built-in refrigerators, wall ovens and dishwashers share many internal parts with KitchenAid and Whirlpool, while trim, handles and some controls are Jenn-Air specific. Common Jenn-Air problems we fix
Downdraft vent weak or not running
A failing blower motor, a clogged filter or grease-loaded ductwork will reduce suction on a Jenn-Air downdraft. If the vent does not run at all, the switch or the motor is the usual suspect.
