Loganville was incorporated in 1887 and takes its name from early settler James Harvie Logan. The city lies mainly in western Walton County, with its limits reaching into southeastern Gwinnett. US 78 runs through the center of town, GA 20 heads northwest toward Lawrenceville, and GA 81 runs toward Winder and Covington. Vines Botanical Gardens and Holy Cross Cathedral are two of its better-known landmarks, and the downtown crossroads still feels like a small Georgia town.
